I talked with someone on their online chat on May 5 and was told the item I was ordering was in stock, with 6 available, and orders were being processed and shipped in about 2 days. On May 10, I received an email response to an inquiry saying my order would ship the coming week. My order still has not shipped, and I am getting absolutely no responses to my emails. So they’re not being upfront about their processing time and not being responsive to emails. This is extremely frustrating. They’re taking business away from other small businesses and then not fulfilling the orders, and they’re stringing costumers along. I highly recommend you avoid ordering from Erik’s.
Ordered, paid, and soon after was told my item would be delivered between 1 to 4 weeks out. 4 weeks out received an email saying they don't have it in stock and asked if I would like to order something else. Seems there are similar reviews, they take payment for items they don't have in stock. A shamble of a business with appalling customer service.
I have been in contact with customer service multiple times and it has not been put right

I have started ordering online through Erik's and have had great success. Their prices are very competitive and most of the time the best available. I have been very happy with the shipping time from them as well.
My experience with Erik’s bike shop in Glendale has been exceptional.Heather, in the service department, has been extremely helpful. Her explanations were very clear and concise. She is open to questions and listens to the customer’s concerns. The entire staff is helpful and professional. I am thrilled that we changed bike shops. Thank you!

I order two bikes back in December. They both arrived with damage and missing parts. I reached out multiple times to customer service but never heard anything back. Sad.
Ordered an item that never came and they said there was nothing I could do and would have to swallow a $300 cost. Absolutely horrifying business model, I feel as though this warrants legal action with how fraudulent this feels.
I ordered a close-out ebike off Erik's website on December 14. The ad and the confirmation said the bike would be delivered 12/24. No scanning or tracking information with FedEx, and nothing delivered as of today 12/30. Chat with Erik's (Liz) was useless - she bitched that "we are doing the best we can." Two more electronic contacts have gone unanswered, but ERik's was quick to charge my credit card for the purchase! Wake up Erik. The charge won't be paid unless the bike arrives before payment is due.
Said they had the product, ordered it, got a similar but not same product, called, was told they ran out of the product that I ordered. Why sell it then?
I've had two amazingly helpful experiences at Erik's Bikes in Deerfield with Bruce as my salesman. Bruce helped me pick out my first new bike (in decades) during the April 2020 bike rush during the pandemic. He was super knowledgeable and helped me pick the ideal bike for me and my needs. I absolutely love my new bike and am blown away at how well it rides. In the fall with cold weather during the pandemic, I went there to buy my first indoor bike "trainer" set. Bruce was incredibly knowledgeable and again helped me select the right trainer set for me and my needs. Ken even carried the trainer set out to my car for me in the cold. I would recommend Erik's Bikes in Deerfield to anyone - I'm very grateful for their expert guidance in shopping for new items, especially because I have familiarity in what I would exactly want or need until Bruce could help guide me to the right products for me!
Very good shopping experience, great customer service, website is easy to browse and purchase from. Highly recommend.
I highly recommend this bike shop for purchases and repairs. We purchased great bikes there and the repairs are unrivaled. I went in to see Cash, the repairman and he repaired a bike pulley that I thought was a total loss. Cash was so kind, knowledgeable, and professional that I decided I will always visit that shop for my biking needs.
I ordered specific fenders for my bike from Erik's. They came timely enough, however I didn't get any instructions. Just a bag of hardware that made no sense at all. I call customer service and it was anything but. I had my tires off and ready to install on my only day off and the person on the line couldn't help me. He couldn't email me instructions. I spent 20 minutes on my phone in the garage trying to find something from a video to printed materials and nothing came up. I finally decided to go in to my office and use a computer for a search. THE MANUFACTURER of my fenders had printed materials right on their website. 5 hours later and I still don't have anything from the "Customer service" center. Really? Isn't this your job? I didn't order these for display, I needed them installed on my bike. It shouldn't have been so frustrating.
I ordered a set of cranks from them. They shipped them a week later. They sent me a used set and when I told them they said that they were already marked down a lot and they’d give me $20 back because they were used. I said for that small of a discount I’d prefer to get the new set. They said I’d have to send these back before they’d even place the order for the new ones. It’d be at least a month before I’d end up with what I ordered. I have no idea if they’re a good store in person or not, but for mail order, not so good. I’d avoid.
